Tour companies’ top priority is the well-being of their travelers. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have had to change some aspects of their business to make sure travelers stay as safe as possible.
Many tour companies are now requiring travelers to be fully vaccinated. It’s vital that tour companies prioritize not only the safety of their travelers but also the communities they visit. These companies’ goals are to minimize the chances of their guests traveling with, picking up, or spreading COVID-19. This is part of their operating responsibly, especially in countries with more vulnerable populations or low access to vaccines.
Many venues around the world are now requiring proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours for indoor activities, such as dining in restaurants or visiting museums and attractions. Tour companies requiring guest vaccinations make sure unvaccinated travelers don’t get left out of some activities offered on the tour.
This seems to be the trend moving forward. Here are five companies that have already announced the requirement of vaccines on their tours.

Globus

The Globus family of brands has changed its COVID-19 protocols to require all guests on its international tours, river cruises and independent vacation packages to be fully vaccinated.
All guests will need to provide proof of full vaccination in order to travel. Globus accepts vaccines authorized or recognized by the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. Travelers may encounter additional requirements if their vaccine is not recognized by the travel destination.
The Globus family of brands includes Globus, Cosmos, Monograms, and Avalon Waterways, and this policy applies to all of them.

All G Adventures travelers booked on trips departing on or after October 1, 2021, will be required to follow the new Travel-Ready policy with G Adventures.
The policy requires travelers to be fully vaccinated, with the final vaccine dose given at least 14 days prior to the start of the tour, or proof of a negative PCR test within 96 hours before your G Adventures welcome meeting.
G Adventures will offer Vaccinated Tours with only fully vaccinated travelers, and Travel Ready Tours with vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers (with a negative test). G Adventures’ goal is to have more Vaccinated Tours than Travel Ready Tours.

Contiki wants everyone who travels with them to have the best experience possible, so when faced with having to exclude unvaccinated travelers from activities and subject them to frequent out-of-pocket on-trip testing, they feel that requiring all travelers to be vaccinated is the most responsible choice.
Fully vaccinated travelers must have proof of vaccination showing they received their last required dose at least 15 days before the start of the trip. Proof of vaccine (can be either printed or digital) must show the traveler’s full name and must match the name on the passport or any other recognized travel document.
This applies to all Contiki trips, for both international and domestic travel.
These rules apply to all of the Travel Corporation’s companies including Trafalgar, Costsaver, Insight Vacations, and Brendan Vacations.

Tauck

A lot of the destinations Tauck visits are requiring visitors to provide proof of vaccination to receive entry.
Tauck requires all guests ages 12 and over to bring proof that they are fully vaccinated and received the final required dose at least 14 days prior to the start of their tour or cruise.
For unvaccinated minors under the age of 12, they must bring a laboratory-issued, dated negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 3 days of the start of the Tauck journey.

Collette

All of Collette’s international tours beginning September 1, 2021, are requiring travelers to be fully vaccinated prior to traveling.
Many international destinations have introduced vaccination requirements for indoor experiences (museums, restaurants, attractions, etc.) even though the entry requirements for that destination do not require vaccination.
Collette has created a self-service online resource for every destination that they travel to. This tool gets updated with the latest information on COVID-19-specific travel and health requirements (vaccination documentation, testing, exemptions, arrival forms, etc.), visas, and more for every destination that Collette travels to.
