Time of year is also something to consider pre-travel. Tahiti has a wet season that lasts from November to April. If possible, we would suggest that you avoid this time of year to get the most out of your vacation. If whale watching is on your top to-do list, visit Tahiti between August to October for the best chance of sightings.

However, be aware that overwater bungalows are considerably more expensive than resort rooms. They do offer a completely unforgettable experience, but we always suggest mixing up your accommodation over the course of your holiday to get a feel for the different offerings. Name brand resort chains are a popular and great choice in Tahiti. Brands like Intercontinental, Four Seasons, St.Regis and Sofitel have resorts on multiple French Polynesian islands and often offer discounts to travellers staying at more than one of their properties (another bonus to booking in advance).
